We Won the Fight for $15!
This week Governor Murphy signed legislation that will raise New Jersey’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2024.
This victory was made possible by our members, and thousands of other workers, who participated in the Fight for $15.
The minimum wage increases that we won are as follows:
– July 1, 2019: the minimum wage will increase to $10 per hour.
– January 1, 2020: the minimum wage will increase to $11 per hour.
– January 1, 2021: the minimum wage will increase to $12 per hour.
– January 1, 2022: the minimum wage will increase to $13 per hour.
– January 1, 2023: the minimum wage will increase to $14 per hour.
– January 1, 2024: the minimum wage will increase to $15 per hour.
For seasonal workers and employees at small businesses with five or fewer workers, the base minimum wage will reach $15 per hour by January 1, 2026.
For agricultural workers, the base minimum wage will increase to $12.50 per hour by January 1, 2024 with the potential to raise to $15 per hour by January 1, 2027.
